Writing:

Today I would like you to pick one of the read aloud stories to write about (book 1 or book 2) and write 2 ideas about the story that you liked.

My example (book 1) My favourite bird from the story.

I liked the story about birds. The fantail or piwakawaka was my favourite bird. I like fantails because they are friendly and have beautiful tail feathers. I think there tails are interesting because they are shaped like a fan. I liked it when the fantails were tweeting and twittering.

Remember to use:

  • capital letters
  • finger spaces
  • sound out tricky words
  • full stops
  • 2-3 ideas

Te Reo:  We have been learning about shapes in English and in te reo. Here is a video to help you to learn shapes in te reo.

This term we have been learning about farm animals. I thought it would be good for us to learn the names of animals in te reo. Here is a video to help you learn the names in te reo and how to sign them! Give it a go! You can do it.

Art Time: I saw these cool videos on leaf art and thought it would be a fun activity for you to do with your family. Now go outside and explore your garden (hopefully it is not raining) to find some leaves for your art. Remember when you finish making your leaf picture you could take a photo of it and send it to me.

I hope you have enjoyed learning with your family today.

Take care and stay safe at home.
