Auckland Zoo: Let's explore the zoo on the webcams.
I was thinking you might like a quick trip around Auckland Zoo. They have got webcams set up around the zoo. Just click on the link and you will see lots of different animals. Have fun exploring. https://www.aucklandzoo.co.nz/webcams
I would love to hear about your favourite animal? You could write a comment to me at the end of the blog telling me which animal was your favourite.
Kiwi: below is a video clip of kiwi being released back into the wild. I want you to watch it and then write down one fact about a kiwi.
I wonder how many facts you can remember from the video. Remember watch the video a few times to help you.
Can you tell someone in your family a fact about kiwis?
Art Activity: Draw a kiwi.
Here is a video of a kiwi to help you. Give it a go!
Shared Book:
Here is a funny book about a kiwi for you to watch. The author Jason Tharp reads the story out loud.
Shared Reading:
Here is a wonderful book called 'Mrs Wishy Washy' a fun story about farm animals. I am sure you will enjoy all the animal sounds.
Remember to use:
- capital letters
- finger spaces
- sound out tricky words
- full stops
- 2-3 ideas
- edit you story (read it and check it makes sense)
My example:
My favourite part of the story was when the cute pink pig rolled around in the lovely mud.
I liked the the part when the cow jumped into the mud and got all dirty. I think the cow was having lots of fun in the mud.
Extra for Experts:
You could draw the characters from the story and then cut them out. Then put them on a stick and make a puppet show for your family.
Songs: Here are a few fun songs for you to sing along to.
Fun Fitness: Some dancing to finish our learning today.
I hope you have enjoyed learning with your family. Hopefully I will see you back at school soon.
Take care and stay safe at home.
