Maths: Problem of the Day

Look at the picture of farm animals. There are 5 animals in the picture.  How many legs are there altogether? 

Remember you could draw the animals to help you work it out.

Adding Ten: Here is a great video adding by 10 song.


Activity: Can you write some of the facts down? 

Maths: Basic facts (Number bonds)


Activity: Try to write the number bond down. Have a go at the fact family triangle questions.   



Shared book: The Rainbow Fish


After you have listened to the story you could pick an activity to do at home.

Activities to pick from:

1. Draw a picture and write a story to describe the Rainbow fish.

You can use words like..
  • beautiful, sparkling, shiny, bright, colourful, rainbow, scales.
2. Draw the rainbow fish and label the parts of a fish.

You can use words like...
  • fin, tail, mouth, eye, scales 
3. Try to count all of the Rainbow Fish's scales?

4.  Make your own 'rainbow' animal. Could you create a Rainbow Bird, a Rainbow Butterfly or a Rainbow Chameleon?

Can you draw an eel? Have a try at drawing an eel and look at the picture below to help you.



Room 5 Challenge: Can you make a paper plane? 
Maybe you can make a paper plane with your family and go outside and fly it? 
Below is a video that you can watch to learn how to make a paper plane. You just need some paper! Have fun flying your paper plane!
