Home Learning: Monday

Good morning, Talofa lava, kia ora,

Can you write the date?

Yoga:
I found a cosmic kids yoga video that I thought you might like. 

Calendar Maths
Just like we do in class, we can do at home. I am going to give you a number and you have to answer the questions.

Todays number is 19

Questions:
-What comes before 19?
-What comes after 19?
-Can you spell the number 19?
-Can you write down 19 tally marks?
-What equations can you make that equal 19 (10+9=19)


Maths: Counting backwards from 20, 50 100.  Work on counting backwards everyday and see if you can write the numbers as you say them.

Basic Facts: We are learning to instantly remember basic facts. Here are a few videos to help you learn them.






Activity: Here are some basic facts to try to write down. 

Remember: You can use your fingers, objects to count (buttons, pegs etc) or the numbers on a ruler to help you.

Facts to 5:
3+2=      4+1=     5+0=    4-1=     5-2=     3-2=     4-2=

Facts to 10:
7+3=      6+4=     5+5=      8+2=     9+1=     10+0=      8-2=        7-3=    6-2=       9-3=

Shared book:
Here is our shared book for today.



Extra Activity: You could draw a picture from the story and describe the polar bear or write about your favourite part of the book.

Your sentence could start like this:
I liked the grumpy polar bear because he explored the world and tried different homes. In the end he finally found the perfect home.

Writing
I want to know what you have been up to in the weekend. Write a story about what you have been doing?

Some ideas:
What have you been doing in your bubble?
Have you been on any walks or bike rides?
Have you been baking?
Have you had any Facetime chats with your friends or family?
Have you played games with your family?

Remember to use:
-capital letter
-full stop
-finger spaces
-sound out words
-use the word because

Handwriting:
This week we have been working on the letters Vv and Ww.  Did you remember to sit the letters on the line?  Here is another video to help you with your handwriting.




Craft Fun:
Here are a few good videos showing you how to make different paper chains.

  1. So much great learning to do on your blog Room 5, I think making the paper chains would be great fun, you can even make them out of recycled paper which I think would look cool.
