We had an amazing trip to Alberton.
When we got there we stopped and had a rest and a drink of water. Then we were ready to explore the house.
We got to go inside the old house. We sat in the ballroom and had a talk with Francesca about the history of Alberton.
Next we got to explore the house and all the rooms.
We walked around the house and saw so many beautiful rooms.
This is the room where ladies had tea.
This is a photo of the formal dining room.
This is a photo of the kitchen.
Look at how big the ballroom is for dancing.
This is a desk for writing.
This is a jug and bowl that people used to wash.
This is the sewing room.
Look at this photo of the well they had for the house.
These are some of the tools that they used in the olden days.
This is the bathroom with a big tub to wash in.
Look at the big fireplace and the oven for cooking.
Alberton also had a library. Look at all the books.
This is a photo of one of the kids bedrooms.
This is a photo of the ladder up to the attic.
Look how small the bedroom was in the attic.
This is one of the adults bedrooms.
We stopped to have lunch outside under the trees.
This was one of the activities that we did. The suitcase had olden day relics inside it that we got to unwrap and then we tried to guess what they were used for.
Next we got to have a go at making butter out of cream. It was hard work.
It tasted pretty good on a cracker.
Then finally we went on a fairy house hunt around the gardens of Alberton. It was very exciting to find all of them.
We had to stop to look at the chickens and feed them some grass.
Finally we walked back to school and went for a swim in our school pool.
What an adventurous day it was. A big thank you to the parents who came with us on the trip.
What an exciting day exploring Alberton! Wow - my house doesn't have a ballroom for dancing or a library. So many interesting things to look at - fantastic. I'm glad you had a great day Room 5.
