Sustainable Coastlines Walk

Room 5 went on our Sustainable Coastlines Walk.  The whole school went out to pick up rubbish to clean up the waterways around our community.

We know that any rubbish that goes down drains ends up in the ocean.  It is important to care for the ocean and the sea animals. We took action and picked up rubbish to help our environment.

We went to the hall steps and lined up. We got given gloves to wear to protect our hands while we picked up rubbish.  We got a big white sack to put the rubbish into and then we were off.

We walked along Richardson road to the pedestrian lights and crossed. Then we turned right and went down the path.

We walked down to the local stream and across the big white bridge.

We saw lots of cars, buses and trucks on the motorway. Some of the trucks even beeped there horns at us as we waved at them from the bridge.

Then we walked over the bridge and around the pond where we found some rubbish. We were 'Eco Warriors' today.
