Jelly Beans: Session 3

Today at music we liked...

• singing
• dancing 
• playing instruments

We started with 'The Banana song'.

Then we worked on notes 'C' and 'G' on the glockenspiel.  We talked about rhythm and clapped (slow, slow, quick, quick slow)

We got to play a song on the glockenspiel.

Next we got to play different instruments like...

• tambourines
• castanets
• triangles
• drums
• tapping sticks

We had fun with Linsey the music teacher.

PMP

Room 5 enjoyed PMP in the hall.  It is great to be able to work on...

• balance
• coordination
• jumping
• catching
• throwing
• crawling

Swimming: Week 3 24th February

Swimming times:
This week we have swimming lessons on Wednesday and Friday.
Please remember to bring your togs, towel and a bag on these days.

Jelly Beans: Session 2

We had our second session with Linsey today.

We started with the 'Banana Song'  and had fun dancing.
















Then we opened up our glockenspiel and got a beater to get ready to play. When Linsey says the magic word 'unicorn' we put the beater on our head and listen to the next instruction of what note to play.

We had fun playing notes on the glockenspiel.

Next we did some dancing to a song called 'The Moon Mambo' 

We had fun playing different instruments today like the...

• tambourine where we got to... shake and tap
• castanets where we got to ...click click click
• drums where we got to ...ta-tay-ta-ta-tay
• triangles where we got to...ta-tay-ta-ta-tay
• tapping sticks where we got to...ta-tay-ta-ta-tay

We had to listen to the music and follow the beat.

Maths: Statistics

In maths we have been learning about 'Statistics'.

We have been learning how to sort objects into groups. We can sort objects different ways by:

• colour
• size
• shape

Our Class Treaty

We read a story called 'The Tree Hut Treaty' and talked about how important it is to have a happy and safe classroom.

Room 5 talked about being kind and friendly at school.  Then we had a big talk about rules and how important they are to help make our classroom a great place for learning.  We looked at our school values as well.

We came up with some really good rules for our class.

After reading the 'Room 5 Class Treaty'  we shook hands and signed the treaty.

Room 5 are great learners! What a wonderful year we are going to have.
