Reading

Room 5 are fantastic readers.  We love reading everyday! Here are a few photos of us during our reading rotation.

Rimu Athletics

We had a wonderful time at Rimu Athletics.

The weather was beautiful!

We had lots of different activities to do...

• high jump
• long jump
• hurdles
• obstacle course
• bean bag throw
• running races
• vortex throw
• softball throw
• sack race
• 3 legged race

We had some very fast runners in Room 5. Well done to everyone who ran in the semi-finals and finals.  We were very proud of our 3rd place 6 year old boy!

 

 

Maths

Room 5 have been working on ...

  This group has been working on counting, adding and subtracting in 10's.

Swimming

Today we had our first swim in the school pool. The water was beautiful and warm. We had fun splashing around.  It was great to use the noodles and boards to work on floating.

Beach Education Trip

Today we had our Beach Education Trip to Point Chev. It was a fun day and we even got to go for a swim!  The waves were a perfect size for us and the water was warm.

We loved the activities on the beach:

• sandcastle making
• digging holes
• finding shells
• tug of war
• towel song
• towel and ball game

Even the parents had a good time with the tug of war game.



The towel game with music was exciting.









Trying to keep the ball in the towel was a challenge.












Next we got to to into the water for a swim. The waves were wonderful.









Then we went up to the grass area and played a few games as well:











Room 5 really enjoyed the sponge and water activity.
