GEOMETRY

In maths we have been learning about shapes. (Geometry)

We have been learning to recognise shapes and to sort them into groups.


Here is a shapes video we watched from you tube.



We have been learning to describe shapes by what they look like this is how Room 5 described some of the shapes....

Triangles: 
 
A triangle has three sides and three corners. 
It is a flat shape. 
Triangle in te reo is tapatoru.
 . 

Circles:
A circle has one side and zero corners.
A circle is a flat shape and is round.
Circle in te reo is porowhita.


Squares:
A square has for equal sides.
It is a flat shape.
It has four corners.
Square in te reo is tapawha rite

Rectangles:
A rectangle has two long sides and two short sides.
It has four corners.
It is a flat shape.
Rectangle in te reo is tapawha roa



We have made shape art.  We usedlots of  different shapes to make our own robot.






We went outside and made shapes together.




We also got to make shapes out of sticks and be shape makers.

Discovery Time

Today for Discovery Time we had lots of fun activities to choose from:

  • ball games
